Threads of Learning: My Internship Story from UNISDA Lamongan

“ I think I cannot make it through… ”—this was one of the thoughts running in my head before stepping into a journey I never expected to take. The idea of leaving home, immersing myself in a new culture, and standing in front of unfamiliar students felt overwhelming at first. I was a Science major about to teach English in a foreign land—how could I possibly handle that? Yet, little did I know that what seemed impossible at the beginning would later become one of the most unforgettable chapters of my life. My practicum in Lamongan, Indonesia was not just about fulfilling academic requirements; it was about discovering resilience, embracing diversity, and learning that true teaching goes beyond subjects—it’s about touching lives. The very first institution that opened its doors to me in this journey was Universitas Islam Darul ‘Ulum (UNISDA) in Lamongan .
